B&O in your Bimmer

September 2, 2012 Written by Editor

ALTHOUGH audiophiles have traditionally shied away from being perceived as Bang & Olufsen loyalists, there’s no doubt the Danish company has been highly influential in shaping design approaches in the field of audio – cosmetically and technically.

These days, B&O’s ICE power modules form the heart of many a digital hi-fi amplifier, while luxury car marques like Aston Martin, Audi and Mercedes AMG sport high-end B&O audio systems.

Hi-fi enthusiasts with enough buck for a BMW can expect the same sonic treatment –  the 5, 6 and 7 Series models now come with a unique B&O high-end surround sound system that the audio company promises will deliver a unique experience to the lucky driver.

The system comprises 16 active speakers using acoustic lens technology and dishing out a phenomenal 1,200 watts of music with pristine clarity, balanced to create a realistic stage for the driver who wants to move in sonic style. Various sound field modes allow tuning the stage, while the cosmetics are uniquely B&O in design flair.

Curious? Can afford one of these Bimmers, and craving for a B&O in your life? Check out the site.
