Cary Audio DMC-600/600SE… more than CD players

December 10, 2014 Written by Editor

CARY Audio will start shipping its two new “Digital Music Centers”, the DMC-600 and DMC-600SE, this week. These are actually CD players with enhanced connectivity options to meet the needs of today’s audiophile.

Both the DMC-600 and DMC-600SE support PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz native audio, as well as native DSD64, 128, and 256. Both feature CSR aptX lossless Bluetooth, SPDIF coaxial and Toslink inputs, AES/EBU inputs and fully balanced XLR and RCA outputs. Yes, USB is included.

Additionally, there’s also Cary’s proprietary TruBit upsampling technology, and DiO vacuum tube and solid state analogue outputs – yes, like two machines in one!

The costlier DMC-600SE uses super premium reference grade components within the analogue output sections for further audio improvements. It also has a clock input for use with an external master clock in pro applications.

The DMC-600 retails at US$5,995, and the DMC-600SE, at a heftier US$7,995 – both are available in black or silver.
