Roksan Radius turntable now ‘7’

March 7, 2016 Written by Editor

ROKSAN’S “little” Radius turnable is now in “7” guise and the company believes the Radius 7 is all that the preceding and highly-acclaimed 5 was… and more. The blueprint is retained but there are some important enhancements, one of which is the unique and precision-machined “glass-effect” finish of the circular plinth.

More crucial to performance is the newly-designed motor assembly unit that features electronic speed selection – this is derived from the one used on the flagship Xerxes model and touted to be “an exceptionally accurate device, featuring a very high quality crystal speed control.”

It purportedly maintains perfect-pitch stability for 33 and 45rpm speeds (indicated by red and blue LEDs), no matter the voltage variations – and no more switching belt position for speed change. Thus, there’s also a new one-size pulley made from aluminium alloy.

Importantly, the older 5 model can be upgraded to the new specs. Nothing is mentioned about the tonearm, so we assume it remains the same.

The Radius 7 begins shipping this month, check in with your neighbourhood Roksan dealer for a date.
