WIRELESS convenience is what many hi-fi enthusiasts crave, and better yet if it can be incorporated into their resident “wired” system. The Shanling BA1 desktop hi-fi Bluetooth receiver will help you folks along at minimal cost.
As Shanling says, “Many audiophiles have discovered the practicality and freedom of wireless connectivity through the world of portable audio… yet implementing it into their home set-ups can be often too expensive, or lacking in connection and sound quality.

“We took our vast experience in designing and manufacturing both high-end and portable Bluetooth products, combining it all into one machine for home audio. The BA1 is one simple device that adds the convenience of wireless audio into your headphones, desktop or stereo speaker set-ups, providing you with top-quality Bluetooth connectivity and great sound, all at affordable price.”
The BA1’s heart is the ESS Sabre ES9218P DAC/amplifier chip, combining it with a Qualcomm CSR8675 chip for Bluetooth 5.0 implementation to explore high-quality wireless audio to its fullest current potential.

“Thanks to the support of LDAC and LHDC codecs, the BA1 is capable of high-resolution playback over Bluetooth, supporting up to 24-bit/96kHz. Simply connect it to your amplifier or active monitors with a pair of RCA cables.
“The dedicated headphone output is designed for use with both full-size headphones and sensitive earphones. And with the digital optical output, the BA1 can be used as a pure digital source for your current DAC or receiver. It can also be connected to any computer to serve as a high-quality external sound card. And thanks to the plug-n-play design, setting it up is simple and instantaneous.”
The companion app, available for Android and iOS, allows the user total control over all settings. The power supply (via USB) is optional.
The BA1 measures a compact 120 x 100 x 26mm, and weighs 205g. It is available now, at US$169 per unit.
