Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds on pre-order now

UNLESS you’ve been spending your time burrowed in a hole, you would know about Sony’s true wireless (TWS) noise cancelling earphones, the WF-1000XM series. The latest model, the WF-1000XM4, has all the same features as the third generation, and more. You can now pre-order these fine earbuds.

The WF-1000XM4 sports a newly-designed Integrated Processor V1 to replace Sony’s acclaimed QN1e chip. Improved noise cancelling performance and Bluetooth “System on Chip” technology deliver the industry’s highest level of noise-cancelling while using less power than its predecessor, says Sony.

“A newly-designed 6mm driver unit with a 20% increase in magnet volume also improves the WF-1000XM4’s noise cancelling capabilities.

“The increase in magnet volume and the high-compliance diaphragm give improved performance in low frequencies and enhances noise-cancelling by generating a high-precision cancellation signal to the low frequency range.”

As an improvement over the previous model, the “WF-1000XM4 now supports High-Resolution Audio Wireless, thanks to LDAC, Sony’s industry-adopted audio coding technology.”

“LDAC transmits approximately three times more data (at the maximum transfer rate of 990kbps) than conventional Bluetooth audio, allowing you to enjoy High-Resolution Audio content in exceptional quality, as close as possible to that of a dedicated wired connection.

“With an IPX4 water resistance rating, splashes and sweat won’t stop the WF-1000XM4 – so you can keep on moving to the music. Whether you’re running for the bus in the rain, or sitting in a cosy office, these headphones will have your back.”

The WF-1000XM4’s charging case also supports wireless charging and is now 40% smaller while providing 16 hours of charge for the earphones. Coupled with the earphones’ rated battery life of eight hours, the WF-1000XM4 gives you a total of 24 hours of use.

The unit comes in either silver or black, and the pre-order programme is now open until July 15, when it goes on sale. The WF-1000XM4’s recommended retail price is at RM1,099.

Pre-orders will also received a Qi compatible wireless charging pad worth RM399. If you’re in Malaysia, you can book these ‘buds at Sony Store The Curve and KLCC, Sony Store Online and all authorised dealers.
