Denafrips does a BIT for your power supply

DENAFRIPS, better known for its DACs, has announced the BIC500 balanced isolation transformer (BIT), a power supply product designed to lower the AC noise floor and improve system performance. Yes, you plug your hi-fi gear into it.

“The BIC500 uses a Denafrips-made audio-grade, high efficient, low noise balanced toroidal transformer. It is a custom-wound toroidal transformer with a centre-tapped (earth), symmetrical balanced voltage output,” says the press literature.

“With a power reserve of 500VA, the BIC500 is suitable for streamer/DDC/DAC/preamp or a moderate powered Class A/B amplifier (up to 500VA).”

The BIC500 features built-in AC filters, Teflon-coated pure copper wire, fused IEC power inlet and four US power sockets. The AC power requirement is 120/240VAC, 50-60Hz.

Each unit measures 171 x 252 x 128mm (w/d/h, with the feet at 18mm), and weighs 6kg. Use your own power cord. The BIC500 is available with a black or silver faceplate, and black body. A 12-month warranty is provided.

Available via Vinshine Audio in Singapore and priced at S$958, the BIC500 will start shipping in September.
