PS Audio Dectet – 10 in one

June 29, 2012 Written by Editor

THE company that gave us the Duet and Quintet Power Centers now ups the ante with the … wait for it … Dectet. That’s 10 for those of you who’re a bit shaky with numbers. PS Audio’s newest power offering is also the most affordable in the range right now, and it’s proudly engineered and built in Boulder in the US of A.

This is a power strip – but not merely – that will accommodate 10 outlets, whatever the type … this apart, it cleans up your AC, protects your electronic gear and importantly, improves both the audio and video performance of your system.

PS Audio worked with a clean slate on this one, rethinking the whole concept, even if the Dectet is the latest in line of multi-outlet filters the company has turned out over the years.

The size of the internal magnetics used for filtering the AC has been increased, with bigger cores and heavier wire gauge than more recent models. Unlike in the past, when parallel bus bars delivered power to each outlet, the Dectet has individual star wiring for superior isolation. The US version also uses PS Audio’s own Power Port outlets.

The new-look chassis was designed to match the company’s PerfectWave style.

The Dectet is priced at a mere US$499 and starts shipping in mid-July. Can’t afford a Power Plant? Well, PS Audio says the Dectet is for you then …
