BeoVision 11 – B&O’s new integrated TV system

October 12, 2012 Written by Editor

STYLE is a quality Bang & Olufsen (B&O) products have never lacked; in fact, this has been the driving force behind the famed company’s designs over the decades.

Latest in this line is the BeoVision 11 television – although this only partially describes it. B&O calls it a “masterpiece of sound, picture and digital entertainment in one place”.

The BeoVision 11 is an integrated unit that comes with all features you can expect of a TV (Bang & Olufsen Smart TV, to be exact), a cutting edge sound system on board and a hard disk recorder. The package also includes a new motorised wall bracket that can be operated remotely.

The TV has a LED-based 55-inch LCD display, offering razor-sharp images, according to B&O. The display also adjusts automatically to ambient light and screen image – B&O’s Adaptive Contrast system ensures dark areas are pitch-black and punchy in contrast even when the ambient light is bright.

Its audio system has been tuned by “hand and ear” in the quest for acoustic perfection. Best of all, the sound system adjusts itself automatically for optimum performance for media changes, but manual control is also provided.

On the physical size, potential vibrations from the two bass ports are minimised with the use of rubber damping along the cabinet, ensuring sonic spuriae doesn’t intrude on the listener.

The system can be controlled via an app on your iPad or Android-driven tablet.

No doubt, there is a price premium on the BeoVision 11, but if you want to make a statement on style and your bank balance, few other audio-visual companies get the message across more incisively than B&O.
