Special connections – Audience Au24 SE

November 14, 2012 Written by Editor

AUDIENCE has pretty much set the bar for power-conditioning products in recent years but the company is no one-trick pony. Its line-up also also includes some highly-rated loudspeakers, power cords, speaker cables and interconnects.

Typical of high-end hi-fi companies, product longevity is a given, which many audiophile punters appreciate. Still, upgrades do come along and Audience has announced the first improvement in five years to its acclaimed Au24e RCA interconnects.

This one, designated the Au24 SE, uses ultra low mass, high-purity and cryo-treated tellurium copper connectors – Audience says this allows more low-level detail, previously inaudible, to be heard. Audiophiles fussy about these things will be glad to hear more decay and spatial information, and a richer texture throughout the frequency spectrum.

The good news for those who already have the older variants of the interconnect – you can get them upgraded at US$220 per pair. Just check with your local Audience distributor or enquire at the website.
