G2 – Cambridge Audio’s new Bluetooth speaker

September 14, 2014 Written by Editor

BIG sound from a little box… this is what Cambridge Audio is promising with its new G2 ultra-compact Bluetooth speaker, set to be launched in October. It can be carried around in your bag, has 10 hours of battery life from a single charge and lets you juice up your phone or MP3 player off it, to boot.

The G2 can be paired via Bluetooth to any phone, tablet or laptop… and if your device has NFC (Near Field Communication), a tap will result in speedier pairing. The unit itself remembers up to four devices paired to it… and if that’s not enough, a 3.5mm input allows wired connectivity as well.

Additionally, the G2 can also be wirelessly paired with a second unit for a bigger and more powerful sound. Or the second unit can be placed in a different room… multi-zone done small!

An inbuilt microphone also allows the user to answer and make calls from connected phones.

The G2 is powered by a Class D amp and features two speakers and two bass radiators.

Measuring a diminutive 189 x 67 x 55mm (w/h/d), the G2 will be available in black or champagne finish. Hitting stores in a few weeks…
