Clearaudio’s heavy-duty record cleaner

March 11, 2015 Written by Editor

CLEANING records can be lots of fun or a tedious chore, depending on the machine used. Ask any vinyl junkie, who is most likely to have one of these cleaning machines at home. But here’s one serious piece of machinery that’ll make the chore a breeze – the Clearaudio Double Matrix Professional Sonic vinyl cleaner.

As you may have guessed, this one will clean both sides of an LP, EP or single simultaneously. You can either can employ an automatic process via the touch of a button… or choose to do it step by step via the operating panel, giving you more control over the process.

According to the literature, the cleaning head here adapts to records of different diameters and thicknesses, while an LED indicates the cleaning fluid level in the internal reservoir. The suction turbine features overheating protection… this a machine that can be operated continuously. You can also select the direction in which the platter rotates, and its speed.

The Double Matrix Professional Sonic, which is made using heavy-duty materials, will be available in May, retailing at €3,500. Optional accessories include a dust cover (€150) and microfibre strip set (€28). Get ready to clear all that gunk from your grooves!
