IF you’re on a quest to find the amplifier that does it all, the Dan D’Agostino Momentum MLife may just be the thing.
The first product to be offered under the company’s Lifestyle range, the MLife combines the engineering of the earlier Momentum integrated amplifier with the most advanced wireless audio technology available… and yes, a DAC on board, too!
The MLife dishes out 200 watts of power per channel, especially important for those who want watts and more watts. The 24-bit/192kHz DAC works with a high-end audio clock, resulting in ultra-low jitter.
According to the press release, “The listening options are endless. You can listen to full-quality, lossless audio streamed through AirPlay, USB drives, or a network-attached hard drive. You can stream from your phone or tablet via Bluetooth. And of course, you still have five analogue audio inputs feeding a pure analogue, fully balanced signal path-to get the best sound from your turntable, music server, or the front left and right channels of your home theatre.”
Soon to be a feature is streaming music service Tidal, via a free software update. An iOS app offers complete control of the MLife, including power, input selection, volume control, and music playback. A five-inch LCD screen displays metadata served through either the Ethernet interface or wirelessly.
Says company founder Dan D’Agostino: “I have to admit I’ve always loved the convenience that mass-market wireless audio products offer. I haven’t been satisfied with their sound, but I knew it was possible to do better. The Momentum MLife is proof.”
The company calls the Momentum MLife “the ultimate integrated amplifier, networked.” It’s shipping now, so here your chance to hear one and decide if you agree.
