Naim’s Mu-so gets a wood finish

April 5, 2021 Leave a Comment Written by The Editor

NAIM Audio’s Mu-so premium wireless speaker has been so well-received that it went into second generation a couple of years ago. “Wireless speaker”, however, would be understating its capabilities. Surprising, then, it is only now that Naim has seen fit to offer the Mu-so Wood Edition… you guessed right, it now comes in a more organically in-tune enclosure. We all love wood finishes, don’t we?

“Mu-so Wood Edition is an elegant new design based on the multi-award-winning wireless speaker system, and offers authentic audio expertise blended with the latest music-streaming technology, multi-room, delightful usability and the ability to transform your TV sound,” Naim says.

“Mu-so Wood Edition’s contemporary silhouette complements any home, thanks to the combination of high quality materials. Its exterior is made from sustainable Ayous hardwood, expertly treated and lacquered for a Light Oak finish. Naim’s iconic anodised aluminium heatsinks feature a unique tint for a refined minimalist design.”

Of course, you know Mu-so is also a streamer, with a wide range of services available through its platform – Spotify Connect, Tidal, Qobuz, Apple Music and Internet radio, among them. You can stream directly from your devices via Bluetooth, Airplay or Chromecast.

“There’s also UPnP support for ultra-high resolution (up to 32-bit/384kHz), plus Mu-so is Roon Ready. An HDMI ARC input makes it easy to enjoy better sound from your favourite TV programmes, films and games.”

The onboard amp and speakers will deliver 450 watts of music power to fill your room.

“The incredible performance is improved by highly optimised speaker drivers – a joint development project between Naim and Focal – that sits neatly behind the acoustically-transparent woven grilles. As the Mu-so 2nd Generation’s many awards attest, you’ve never heard it so good from a single-box system.”

A Room Compensation feature ensures optimum sonic performance wherever you place the Mu-so Wood Edition.
