EarMen ST-Amp… for headamp thrills

EARMEN’S newest offering, the ST-Amp, is a be-everything device for the music lover who prefers to plug in – it’s a headamp, preamp and DAC in a fully-balanced desktop design that lets you hook up digital and analogue sources.

According to the company, the ST-Amp is “fully balanced with almost no phase shift, no additional noise or THD … to make the experience complete, it’s embedded with a high-quality balanced ALPS potentiometer that contributes to the sound remaining unchanged.”

It won’t have issues with hard-to-drive cans either.

“The headphones output is powered by two TPA6120 operational amplifiers, so ST-Amp easily controls different headphone drivers, therefore improving precision, neutrality and transparency. It also takes full advantage of the dynamics procured by the sound source, so it will be possible to enjoy every detail.”

The power supply is on board and inputs include a pair of RCAs for analogue sources and a USB one for digital.

The ST-Amp is now available on the EarMen online shop, priced at US$599.
