Denon’s flagship DP-3000NE is a direct-drive TT

RECENT years have seen Denon offer turntables in the budget segment of the market, largely, ready-to-play units that don’t require much effort on the user’s part to start making music. However, Denon has also previously made turntables with higher aspirations, and to remind of this comes the company’s new flagship DP-3000NE, available this month.

Needless to say (but we’ll say it anyway), Denon tells us the DP-3000NE – ah yes, it’s a direct-drive design – uses “the highest quality components to deliver the most accurate playback possible.”

The retro nod is inevitable in the S-shaped tonearm, designed to suppress vibration and allow optimal tracking at any angle – it is fully adjustable for weight, height, and anti-skating. Denon says its original detachable headshell will match any existing MM or MC cartridge… but bring your own to this vinyl party.

The direct-drive motor, with selectable playback speeds of 33 1/3, 45 and 78rpm, won’t fluctuate, no matter the load, while the sturdy, adjustable insulator feet provide further stability. All ingredients for satisfying vinyl sessions with the cartridge of your choice.

The DP-3000NE, finished in dark ebony natural wood veneer, also comes with a removable dust cover. It is retailing at €2,499 / £2,299.
