NAD Wireless USB DAC 1

June 2, 2012 Leave a Comment Written by SUJESH PAVITHRAN

Rating: ★★★★☆

Hot: Ability to detach the computer source from the system is an extremely liberating experience. Digital output extends wireless capability to other standard DACs.

Cold: Maximum sample rate is 16-bit/48.1kHz, no digital inputs, unable to partner DAC with existing CD players/transports. Decent enough sound, but hardly outstanding.

Encore: The DAC 1 is not just about sonic performance. Having the ability to send music to the system wherever the computer is (within range of the transmitter), is absolutely fantastic.

Specs: Computer to DAC point-to-point wireless connection / 40m range / 24-bit/192kHz DAC but only goes up to maximum 16-bit/48kHz/ resolution / 1 RCA analogue stereo audio out, 1 digital coaxial output / Dimensions: 35 x 135 x 70mm (h/w/d, receiver), 35 x 73 x 15mm (transmitter) /Finish: Black
