AUDIOPHILES and home theatre enthusiasts need a place to gather regularly, exchange notes and boast about their systems. Some of them will hold court, others will lap up every bit of knowledge on display and others will merely lend a patient ear.
If, in the bargain, there are high-end wares on display at the venue and some deals to be had, all the better.
Such, in fact, is the spirit in which hi-fi and AV people flock to the Kuala Lumpur International AV (KLIAV) Show annually – dealers, distributors, disciples and demi-gods alike. You get five to six floors of equipment on which to feast your ears and assuage your ears – esoterica, budget, mid-end and other oddities. All there.
KLIAV 2013, again, served its purpose – to entertain and remind ourselves that we’re an exclusive breed of people. I won’t delve into a show report this year, as I feel that will serve little purpose.
