KRELL Industries will begin shipping its recently unveiled, made-in-the-USA Vanguard integrated amplifier this week – initially, just the analogue-only version, while the digital module will be available in September and can be dealer-installed.
The 200-watt-per-channel (into eight ohms, 400W into four ohms) Vanguard has a balanced, fully-discrete Class A circuit in its preamp section. Also on board are a 750VA toroidal transformer and 80,000 microfarads of storage capacitance.
The amp is enclosed in the same chassis that’s seen on other new Krell products like the Foundation preamp/processor, Connect stream player, Illusion preamp and iBias amplifiers.
The analogue section has three pairs of RCA inputs and one pair of balanced XLR, with WBT speaker terminals.
The digital module includes USB, HDMI, coaxial, and optical inputs, with Ethernet and apt-X Bluetooth streaming. Dedicated iOS and Android apps will allow wired streaming, while the wireless feature lets you hook up phones, tablets and PCs to the amp.
