A ‘Studio’ from Monitor Audio

February 26, 2018 1 Comment Written by The Editor

The “Studio” name isn’t unique in the wide range of speakers Monitor Audio has turned out over the past thirty-something years, but it has always been a prefix. The latest offering from this veteran UK loudspeaker specialists, however, is named just… Studio. It is a stand-mount design and looks like no other Monitor Audio model ever!

According to the company, “the Studio has been carefully designed to deliver the pure pleasure of a detailed and accurate audio performance. It is a premium loudspeaker offering absolute performance from within the clean lines of its compact cabinet. The shape and configuration have been designed to deliver a detailed and powerful audio reproduction that is usually associated with larger loudspeakers. The grille-less design ensures the speaker’s voice is clear and true and lets the drivers become an eye-catching focal point.”

The Studio, featuring technologies from the flagship Platinum II series, uses dual four-inch RDT drivers and an MPD (Micro Pleated Diaphragm) ribbon transducer for “a clear and natural sound, with a deep bass and plenty of mid-range detail.”

Twin rear HiVe II ports ensure the pressure inside the cabinet is symmetrically balanced and that there is no turbulence and air noise. The cabinet is handcrafted from rigid MDF and finished in a satin black, white or grey finish. A solid-metal logo on the cabinet side lends a flourish to the overall package. The precision-machined terminals are rhodium-plated.

Dedicated stands, available in black or white finish, are optional.
