Clearaudio’s new Smart Matrix cleans your records in ‘silence’

YOU’VE got to keep those black discs clean, you know… can’t run away from this chore. And Clearaudio’s new Smart Matrix Silent record cleaning machine should make that task easier, more pleasurable… and yes, less noisy!

This model succeeds the Smart Matrix Professional unit, and comprises a single multifunctional cleaning, vacuum and antistatic arm that takes on 12-inch LPs, 10-inch EPs and seven-inch singles, both vinyl and shellac, via an on-board sliding record size selector.

The arm, chassis and accompanying SMS Seal record clamp (this holds the record firmly in place and protects the label from damage by fluid) are all machined from solid aluminium. The dust cover is optional.

According to the company, the Silent “is engineered to reduce noise to a minimum, which is all the more remarkable considering its 500-watt vacuum motor. This, combined with its elegant chassis, makes the Smart Matrix Silent perfect for placing alongside any hi-fi system rather than being hidden away in a utility room.”

The cleaner possesses integrated, pump-action cleaning fluid application at the touch of a button, so there’s no need for messy application by hand.

Bi-directional rotation enables records to be cleaned in either or both directions, for enhanced cleaning performance.

Clearaudio also provides an adapter for seven-inch singles. The Smart Matrix Silent weighs a shade under 11kg and measures 345 x 345 x 234mm (w/d/h).
