IF you’re looking to push the limits of your digital playback system, here’s something that could interest you – Denafrips’ Terra master clock generator. What’s that, you ask? Well, to put it simply, it generates an ultra stable clock signal to synchronise your digital equipment. This will minimise jitter during transmission and processing of the digital signal. It’s a common piece of equipment in today’s high-end digital recording studios. But you’re an audiophile, so you’re going to be need one, for sure.

“The quality of the clock is one of the profound elements and foundations of superior sonic performance. The lower the jitter and phase noise, and the more stable the clock, the better the sound quality of the digital audio equipment,” Denafrips explains.

“Terra is equipped with high-precision Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillators (45.1548MHz, 49.152MHz), powered up by a high current multi-stage Linear Power Supply with oversized O-Core Transformer.

“Lots of attention was put in to increase the performance factors of the power supply – low noise, high slew rate and high current. These provide the OCXO adequate DC supply, hence, results in great thermal stability and low-level crosstalk.”

Terra’s MCLK1/2/3/4 clock-out frequencies are configurable manually by the intuitive front panel to suit various applications.

The Terra is compatible with Denafrips’ digital-to-digital converters like the Iris, Hermes and Gaia, and transports/streamers from Soundaware, among others. We’ve been quoted a Singapore price of S$1,698, in case this strikes your fancy.
