Cyrus Audio’s premium Signature range gets its first addition for 2014 with the Stream X Signature, an “advanced music streamer capable of reproducing the latest high resolution music with spine tingling detail and clarity.” We feel the chill…
The product was first demo-ed at the Sound and Vision show in Bristol last month, and it’s now ready for consumers, promising ease of set up, smooth navigation and, of course, impeccable sound quality.
The Stream X is capable of streaming files of up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution and is compatible with a range of formats, including WAV, FLAC, ALAC, AAC, MP3, WMA and AIFF.
You can hook it up to UPnP and DLNA devices via the Ethernet or using WiFi. and there is connectivity for other digital sources (one USB, two optical and three coaxial inputs are provided). One coaxial digital output is provided and you’ll need to pair it up to something like the DAC X or XP Signature converter/converter-preamp for maximum effect.
And, of course, there are the 100,000 Internet radio stations on tap, along with podcasts, via TuneIn Radio. Control and navigation can be performed via Cyrus’ proprietary iOS app Cadence, or you can go for the optional physical n-remote. MC-Bus connectivity allows hook-up with other Cyrus components.
The Stream X Signature, available in black or quartz finish, will retail in the UK for £1,250; expect to pay another 200 quid for the n-remote.
